Taran Butler (born January 20) is a recurring expert in Top Shot. He is a national and world champion with pistols and shotguns. He has appeared in Season Two, Three, Four and Five.

Butler returned as an expert in the second episode of Season Five, "Tricks of the Trade". He first coached all the contestants in preparation for their challenge. Butler prepared them to shoot several trick shots using the Winchester Model 1873, the Smith & Wesson Model 10, the M1911, and the Colt Peacemaker.
After the first challenge, Butler returned to coach Blake Miguez and Kyle Sumpter for the Elimination Challenge. This challenge would also feature several trick shots, this time using the Smith & Wesson 686, the Volquartsen Ruger 10/22, and the Ruger Security Six .357 Magnum.
